Sarika Mehta

Born in Ahmedabad, Mehta completed her Diploma in Painting from Sheth C. N. College of Fine Arts, Ahmedabad in 2000. She went on doing her Post Diploma in Printmaking from The Faculty of Fine Arts, M. S. University of Baroda, Vadodara in 2004. She has participated in several group and solo shows including: ‘Home’, a group show at Gallery White, Baroda in 2020, ‘Trans Figured’, at Gallery OED, Cochin in 2018. She has been a part of various residency programs including: ‘Artist residency’ at Priyashri art gallery, Bombay in 2015, ‘Artist residency studio’ at Niv Art Centre, New Delhi in 2013. Her works are characterized by an introspection and silence that stems from her own memories and experiences. Rich with metaphors, yet minimalistic, Mehta's art is rendered in a muted, largely monochrome palette.
The artist lives and works in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
