Vidhi Soni

Born in 1987, Ahmedabad, Vidhi Soni has been inspired by various forms throughout her life. She reminisces about her time she walked around the old city of Ahmedabad, observing different textures and aesthetics, this has heavily inspired her work as well.

The process of layering the paint is a journey which is translated through her art. The pure abstraction in her work allows the spectator to be involved with her art and perceive it after one’s own experiences. Some accidental effects do rise to the surface due to layering of the paint, for which she stops, observes and makes it a part of the painting, she commented. Her painting process is more of meditative state where she paints to translate emotion on canvas, and asks the viewers to join her on the journey.
